In most instances, the door pull hardware is the same on both faces of a pocket door. Then a hole is cut right through the door and the pulls are easily fitted on both faces. In this instance, one face of the door faced a modern kitchen, and the other faced a room with traditional hardware and moldings. So, we had to cut different mortices on each face of the door to accommodate the different shapes.
