The homeowner knew that she could not sell her home with the entry stairs badly rotted. We demolished the stairs, and rebuilt it to the same design. We took precautions to mitigate wood rot in the future. The wrought iron railing was attached to the masonry of the foundation wall, as well as to the concrete walk. The challenge of the job was to build the landing and stairs so that the feet of the railing posts were at exactly the correct height, and sit on the decking and the stair treads.
