Window Sill Nosing Repair

Often window sill rot is only present at the outside edge of the sill, so we can cut and replace the nosing (as it is called.) The effort requires a clean, straight and flat cut to remove the nosing. That will allow us to fabricate and attach a new nosing with no gaps at the glue joint.

  • Sometimes the rot doesn’t go back too far, so we can replace only the nosing.
  • We attached a cutting guide to get a straight, clean cut.
  • Ready for a new nosing.
  • New stock is cut to the same dimensions as the old nosing.
  • The new nosing installed. The casings will have to be replaced.
